Nicole Baker, CEO of biologit, recently delivered an insightful presentation entitled “Use cases of Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), while complying with regulatory aspects of AI” at the 8th ISoP Seminar 2024 “Intelligent Automation in Pharmacovigilance” in Cambridge, Boston.
Nicole summarised the regulatory guidance for literature monitoring across the world, with a specific focus in the guidance for local literature from various EU competent authorities. Nicole proceeded to describe the existing processes for local literature which are generally considered to be complex, highly manual and time-intensive with relatively low yield. Further she described new innovations to transform the process of literature monitoring using AI and automation, including a description of best practice guidance for using AI in a regulated setting.
